Our sunflower lecithin is de-oiled to remove excess oil, allowing for better dispersion in water, improved handling, and enhanced emulsifying properties.
This makes it more suitable for use when adding to food. It still contains a particularly high concentration of polyunsaturated fatty acids. The lecithin powder is a more compact, easy to handle concentrated lecithin product.
Lecithin is one of the richest natural sources of Choline and Inositol. Lecithin is an important nutrient when it comes to maintaining healthy brain function. Choline is transformed into Acetylcholine, a brain chemical vital for the transmission of messages between the brain cells. Lecithin is a fat like substance called a phospholipid. It is produced daily by the liver if the diet is adequate. It is needed by every cell in the body and is a key building block of cell membranes; without it, they would harden. Lecithin protects cells from oxidation and largely comprises the protective sheaths surrounding the brain. Lecithin is composed mostly of B Vitamins, Phosphoric Acid, Choline, Linoleic Acid and Inositol. Although it is a fatty substance, it is also a fat emulsifier.
Our sunflower lecithin powder is non-GMO, and a great alternative to soya lecithin.
